This book was never meant to paint me as a hero. Of all the things I am, that certainly isn’t one. It was written to tell the truth. The victories, the failures, the chaos, the addiction, the consequences, and maybe most importantly, a way out. The moments of grace that somehow kept showing up along the way. Madness to Mercy is about what happens when a life spins completely out of control, and what it really takes to come back from it. Not the polished version. The real one.
Thank you to those who have read and left such wonderful reviews!
The Beginning
It didn’t start as a problem. It started as fun, freedom, and pushing limits. Back then, none of us thought about consequences—we were just living in the moment.
The Descent
Somewhere along the way, things changed. What felt normal slowly became necessary. The fun faded, but the habits didn’t. That’s when it starts taking more than it gives.
The Turning Point
There isn’t always one rock-bottom moment. Sometimes it’s a series of realizations that add up until you can’t ignore the truth anymore—you have to change.
The Fight Back
Recovery isn’t clean or easy. It’s uncomfortable, frustrating, and real. It’s showing up every day and choosing something different, even when you don’t feel like it.
The Purpose
Now, I use my past to help others. Working in mental health and crisis response, I see every day that the same struggle I lived through can be turned into something meaningful.
The Message
No matter how far gone things feel, there’s still a way back. I’ve lived it. And if it’s possible for me, it’s possible for anyone willing to take that first step.
This book didn’t come together overnight.
For years, these were just stories my friends and I talked about. Some were funny. Some were hard to look back on. Over time, I began to understand they were not just stories. They were pieces of a life that had gone off course, and later, pieces of a life that God helped restore.
Writing Madness to Mercy has forced me to go back through the good, the chaos, the damage, the people who helped me, and the recovery that changed everything.
Some pages were easy to write. Others took time.
What you will read is not polished to make me look perfect. It is real.
I am grateful to share this journey with you.
